PRP Injections

What is PRP?

PRP is a healing substance that comes from your blood. The Soni Medical team takes a small amount of blood from your arm to start the PRP process.

After centrifuging the blood, it’s separated into platelet-rich plasma, platelet-poor plasma, and red blood cells. Dr. Soni discards the other components and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma for injection.

Your PRP helps you heal by clotting blood and releasing growth factors, including:

  • Platelet-derived growth factor
  • Transforming growth factor
  • Epidermal growth factor
  • Fibroblast growth factor
  • Insulin-like growth factor
  • Endothelial growth factor

These growth factors intensify your body’s usual healing and recovery processes, making PRP popular for injury treatments, cosmetic treatments, sexual wellness treatments, and dental treatments for gum rejuvenation.

What are the different uses for PRP injections?

PRP has many uses because every part of your body can benefit from faster and more efficient healing. Some popular uses include:

Face and body aesthetics

PRP is a central part of many anti-aging medicine treatments, including the Vampire Facelift. PRP can encourage natural collagen production and smooth wrinkles to help you look younger.

A Vampire Facelift combines fillers and PRP or PRFM (platelet-rich fibrin matrix), so after the fillers wear off, the new collagen growth remains.

PRP can also address stretch marks, cellulite, scarring, and hair loss.

Joint pain and injuries

PRP is a great natural treatment for chronic joint pain, especially from arthritis. It’s often helpful for muscle damage like trigger points. PRP can relieve injury-related pain, including tennis elbow, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, and sports injuries like ligament tears and fractures. It’s also a great solution for slow healing or non-healing wounds.

Sexual health

PRP is the main component of two popular sexual health treatments, the P-Shot and the O-Shot. These treatments can restore normal sexual function and enhance function in either men or women who want to enjoy a better sex life.

Dental

PRP can help restore healthy gum tissue after you've lost it due to periodontal disease, trauma, or other illnesses.

Dr. Soni is a highly respected PRP and stem cell expert who can customize your regenerative medicine treatment for your needs.

How does a PRP session work?

PRP sessions at Soni Medical last around 30-90 minutes, depending on the treatment. Soni Medical providers use an extremely fine syringe for the injections, making them virtually painless. There’s no downtime after PRP treatment.

How often do I need PRP injections?

It can vary by individual, but most Soni Medical patients have three to six PRP treatment sessions. Your treatments occur at intervals of 2-3 weeks. After your initial series of PRP treatments, Soni Medical recommends maintenance sessions every seven to eight months.
